I work аt a bar аnd wе hаνе a 3 раrt washing process οf thе bar glasses. Thе sanitizer mаkеѕ thе back οf mу hands red аnd sore. Thеу seem tο bе inflamed/dry, аnd slightly swollen. Hοw саn I ease thіѕ pain аnd possibly preclude іt frοm experience again?
(I realize I сουld ѕtοр sanitizing thе glasses bυt thаt’s раrt οf mу job)

Throw a pair of gardening gloves on or better yet, see if you can get the boss to buy some eco friendly dishwashing goop, there must be some made by a bigwig out there.

It’s called contact dermatitis – I used to have it with one of the brands of hand cleanser I used (I’m a nurse – lots of handwashing).
Go to the pharmacy or see your GP to get a cortisone cream to get them back to habitual (we can get it over the pharmacy counter here, but I don’t know if that’s the same the world over). Use it till your hands are better, but protect your hands from further contact with the sanitizer rather than depending on medicated cream
Use thin rubber gloves when you’re sanitizing glasses (I’m in suspense you do a bunch at once, not one at a time all night) – you can buy a box at the supermarket.
Try using a barrier cream as moisturiser – place it on before work and keep putting it on throughout the night.
Finally, you could tell your boss you’re having distress with the sanitizer and question if he/she could look into a different brand. Most companies will be only too glad to give free samples if it means they may get an ongoing sale out of it.
